Aloe Vera Uses

Finding out about the numerous aloe vera uses was a relatively slow process for me. But bit by bit I came to see that this plant is about as versatile as a plant can possibly be.
I'm referring here to Aloe Barbadensis Miller (known as the 'true' aloe) which has been referred to as the Miracle Plant, Wand of Heaven, Heaven's Blessing, Silent Healer and Potted Physician among other things. These names, given over centuries, tell us plenty about the aloe plant's success rate don't they?
I first heard that we can drink aloe vera when my dog's limbs stiffened at the age of eight and his vet dismissed his condition as 'arthritis' and seemed at a loss as to how to help Sam. Fortunately, there was help at hand! My daughter produced a chunky yellow tub and strongly recommended that I pour 60 mls of its contents over Sam's dinner each night. Well, to say I was sceptical is to put it mildly!
I was especially so when told that the strange-tasting liquid came from a plant! Back then, you see, I thought it had to be from a pharmacy or a veterinary practice if it was to be effective. How my perspective has changed in the interim!
I began to be just a little more open-minded when after about two weeks Sam's limbs had become much more rubbery - to a degree that my fellow dog-walkers noticed and commented... and asked what Sam was on and whether they could have some of whatever it was.
Yes, that was the beginning and I must admit that I was bemused by the beneficial changes in Sam and in many of his friends - whether Rottweiler, cat or rabbit. I was too bemused for quite some time to think of mentioning to humans that they too might benefit from this drink - as I was benefiting in the sense that drinking from Sam's tub seemed to be having a tonic effect on me, giving me boundless energy.
As well as drinking it, I discovered gradually that we can wash with aloe, clean our teeth very effectively with it, use it in a deodorant, in cosmetics, in after-shave, in a shampoo and conditioner, in the bath, in a hair-spray, lip balm, sunscreen - and in a wonderful variety of creams and lotions.
When combined with bee propolis (Nature's antibiotic) it is even suitable for people and animals prone to eczema and psoriasis! Oh, I could go on forever but I think that by now you'll get my gist about the many and varied aloe vera uses available to us!
